Herpes is a whole group of infectious diseases caused by human herpes viruses. About 90% of the world's population is infected with different types of herpes viruses. It has been established that among the large family of herpes, individual types cause various human diseases. Herpes virus type 1 - most often causes damage to the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, eyes and skin, including the familiar "herpes on the lips", and virus type 2 causes damage to the genitals. Type 3 virus causes shingles and chickenpox.
