Essiac
"Essiac" tea is a world-famous Canadian original blend of medicinal herbs with antitumor properties. "Essiac" is not only an oncological protector but a herbal therapy as well, known for its effectiveness in treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases. "Essiac" promotes recovery after surgical interventions and the use of toxic drugs.
Anthraquinones , biologically active substances taken from plants, make “Essiac” tea effective.
Anthraquinones are known in herbal therapy as highly effective substances for protection of organs, especially when they are used by patients with weakened immunity and oncological diseases. Anthraquinones have a wide spectrum of pharmacological activity: they have antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant and antitumor properties. [1,2]
Doctors from different countries share the successful experience of using “Essiac” tea in scientific and medical journals. In 2005, Dr. Al-Sukhni published data on the positive effect of “Essiac” tea: he recorded that a patient with a therapy-resistant prostate cancer had a decrease of a prostate-specific antigen (PSA). In the course of a regular use of "Essiac" tea, PSA decreased from 87.19 to 0.12 ng / ml. [3] In 2006, Dr. S. M. Zick and co-authors analyzed 510 clinical cases of breast cancer and observed an improvement of those patients’ health who drank “Essiac” tea. [4]

Computed tomography: tumor cells reduction in patient suffering non-small cell lung cancer. The patient did not take chemotherapy and regularly consumed Canadian “Essiac” tea.[5]
Researchers from the University of Toronto (Ontario, Canada) and the Department of Radiological Oncology at Princess Margaret Hospital (Ontario, Canada), Dr. Gladwish and Dr. Clarke, described a case with a lung tumor reduction and mediastinal lymph node tumor reduction of a patient who did not receive chemotherapy but regularly consumed “Essiac” tea. A report on this unique case was published in 2010 in the British Medical Journal [5]
Reviews of herbal therapy for cancer in 2011 note the ingredients of “Essiac” tea as agents enhancing antitumor immunity [6], and in modern publications of 2019, “Essiac” tea is considered to be a herbal blend involved in body detoxification of cancer patients. [7]
